Omega with tyre size 225/55 R 16 3:
The spare whee l is fitte d with a s malle r tyre
on a stee l rim. If you use the spare whee l
the vehicle's handling may be altered.
Obtain a replacem ent for the faulty tyre as
soon as possible, and have the wheel
balanced and fitted to the v ehicle.
Omega with tyre size 235/45 R 17 3:
The spare whee l is fitte d with a s malle r tyre
on a steel wheel. It may only be used as a
tem porary spare wheel.
Notes on the tempora ry spa re wheel 3
z Fit only one temporary spare wheel.
z Do not d riv e faster than 50 mph
(80 km/h).
z Take bends slowly.
z Do not u se the tem porary s pare wheel
for a lengthy period.
z Replace temporary spare wheel with
repaired wheel without delay.
z Do not use tyre chains. If you need to use
ty re chains after suffe ring a flat rear tyre,
fit the tempora ry spare w heel on the
front axle and transfer one of the front
wheels to the rear axle. Adjust tyre
inflation pressure.
Changing wheels
In order to reduce the chance of possible
injuries, make the following preparations
and note the procedure:
z Park on a level, firm a nd non-slippery
surface.
z Sw itch on the hazard warning lights and
apply the hand brake. For a utomatic
transm ission 3, set the selector lever to
position P, or for manual transmission,
eng age first gear or reverse.
z Correctly set up warning triangle.

z Take the spare wheel from the lugg age
compartm ent.
z Before raising the vehicle, set the front
wheels to the straight-ahead position.
z Never change m ore than one wheel at
once.
z Block the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be chang ed by placing wedge
blocks or equivalent in front and behind
the wheel.
z Use the jack only to change wheels.
z If the ground on which the vehicle is
standing is soft, a solid board (max. 1 cm
thick ) should be placed under the jack.
Using a thicker board could damage the
jack and the vehicle.
z No people or a nima ls m ay be in the
vehicle when it is jacked up.
z Never cra wl und er a ja cked-up vehicle.
z Do not start or run the engine while the
vehicle is on the jack.
